29 May 2025

Bord Bia Bloom 2025 officially opens its gates today in Phoenix Park, Dublin.

Running from Thursday, 29 May to Monday, 2 June, the festival promises to be one of the most exciting events on Ireland’s horticultural calendar.

The 21 Show Gardens on display showcase a diverse range of themes, from child-friendly outdoor spaces to environmental awareness and urban garden innovation.

Highlights include designs by Tusla Fostering, Make-A-Wish Ireland, and the Marie Keating Foundation, which focus on health, wellbeing, and inclusive outdoor environments.

Other gardens highlight important issues such as downsizing, biodiversity, balcony planting, and circular economy principles, with contributions from organisations including Citroën Ireland, Repak, Bord Bia, and the European Commission.

Laura Douglas, head of Bloom and brand partnerships, Bord Bia, said: “Protecting our environment connects everything we do at the festival—from the amazing Show Gardens to the talks, workshops, and other activities designed to inspire and educate visitors.

“We’re thrilled to see this year’s gardens take shape, offering practical ideas for people’s own gardens, raising awareness about important issues, and sparking creativity. There’s truly something for everyone!”

Beyond the Show Gardens, Postcard Gardens created by schools and community groups, a vibrant Nursery Village featuring 17 Irish nurseries, and a new Botanical Hub with live demonstrations and workshops will round out the horticultural highlights.

Families and foodies can also enjoy cooking demos, kid’s zones, sustainable living activities, and artisan shopping — all within the scenic setting of Phoenix Park.
