Bord Bia is widening its marketing grants schemes in response to difficulties companies are facing as a result of the Covid 19 crisis with the introduction of its COVID Response Marketing Support Package.

The marketing grants scheme is open to food, drink, and horticulture (edible and amenity) producers, who are client companies of Bord Bia, with a turnover greater than €100,000 in 2019 and less than €25 million in 2019.

The turnover of linked (by common shareholders) and partner enterprises in a group will also be taken into account to determine eligibility for the grant.

Companies with turnover in excess of €3.5m are obliged to be participating in the Origin Green Programme and be up to date with annual reviews.

The scheme supports 70% of eligible expenditure, up to a maximum specified approved amount. This covers activities carried out from the date of your application until the end of December 2020.

Eligible activities:

  • Website design.
  • Development of e-sales/marketing and online activities.
  • Purchase of published reports and market information.
  • Marketing consultancy costs.
  • Design and origination of point-of-sale (POS) material.
  • Design of packaging, labels, and brochures.
  • Quality consultancy.
  • Quality training and audit costs.
  • Nutritional analysis.
  • Market research visit.
  • Participation at trade fairs and exhibitions and related costs.
  • In store tastings.

Companies who applied under the MAP and SCP programmes in January do not have to reapply. These companies will be contacted directly and can avail of increased allocations and the higher reimbursement rate of 70%, as well as amending or introducing new activities.

The closing date for receipt of applications is Thursday, April 16, 2020. Late applications will not be accepted.

Application forms should be typed and saved as a Microsoft Word document and emailed to john.nugent@bordbia.ie. Handwritten or hardcopy applications will not be accepted.

Applicants are required to submit a copy of their latest available accounts when applying. Eligibility does not confer an automatic entitlement to aid – the selection process is a competitive one.

The application form can be accessed here.
