Illegal PPP and withdrawn active substances for growers from April

April will see two active substances' last date of sale by distributors or retailers take place. Separately, two Plant Protection Products (PPP) will become illegal on April 3 and 16 respectively, due to their registrations either being expired or revoked.

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine’s (DAFM) Pesticide Registration and Control Division (PRCD), informs the trade on Plant Protection Products (PPP) which have had their registrations revoked or expired, rendering their use illegal. The PRCD also provides information regarding active substances which will be withdrawn from the Irish market.

Active substances’ last date of sale by distributors or retailers

Retailers and wholesalers will be unable to sell products containing the active substances Desmedipham and Dimethoate after their respective last date of sale in April. The active substances have been subject to EU regulatory action. The grace periods for last date of use are listed below.
