Reesink Turfcare Ireland took home the Best New Product Award at GLAS 2022 for its Farmtract FT25G electric tractor.

During the event, which took place 21 July at the National Basketball Arena in Dublin, the hottest New Plants and New Products, as well as the Supplier of the Year, Best in Show Trade Supplier and Best Stand award winners were crowned.

This award was chosen by our esteemed judges; independent horticulture consultant, Anna Kavanagh, and Westland Horticulture’s James Spillane.

The new Farmtrac FT25G electric tractor easily manages the smaller yet tiresome yard or paddock tasks with great ease and efficiency, delivering seriously useful eco-friendly maintenance. Its compact size, zero emissions and low noise levels ensure it is an interesting proposition for nurseries, stud farms, local authorities, sports pitches and golf courses. It has all the functions and features of a compact tractor, with the benefits of electric power.

Upon winning the prize, Dermot O’Connor said he was delighted to accept the award on behalf of Reesink Turfcare and Farmtrac. He went on to explain that they are excited about the potential of Ireland’s first electric tractor and that it has more than enough power to be a useful, reliable and viable alternative.

“We had a lot of interest in the tractor during the show which was our first event post- Covid,” said O’Connor, who then explained that “with a 72V lithium-ion battery and on board charger the FT25G is fully chargeable from a domestic socket in five hours and able to run for up to six hours ensuring productivity won’t suffer by the decision to go green”.

O’Connor continued: “Farmtrac are part of the Escorts Kubota group based in India who are among the world’s top 10 tractor manufacturers with over 1 million units sold since its inception in 1961.”

Eamonn Maguire from Growtrade noted that the Farmtrac electric tractor was “a compact machine designed for when you need quieter, cleaner machinery, that’s still powerful, and that it was a worthy winner of the Best New Product award”.
