Teagasc is inviting horticulture employers across Ireland to participate in the 2025 Horticulture Apprenticeship Programme, offering businesses a unique opportunity to train and develop skilled professionals while meeting industry demands.

The programme provides a blend of practical, on-the-job training and academic learning, ensuring apprentices gain essential skills and expertise.

Employers can benefit in several ways, including:

Skilled Workforce: Tailor the apprentice’s training to meet the specific needs of your business

Fresh Perspectives: Benefit from motivated individuals bringing new ideas and enthusiasm

Government Support: Financial incentive to support employers

Industry Development: Play a crucial role in shaping the future of Ireland’s horticulture sector

Teagasc currently has nearly 40 apprentices enrolled in its two-year programme at the Botanic Gardens College, with apprentices attending block-release training sessions.

The next intake begins on August 25, 2025.

To support employers, Teagasc is hosting a webinar series throughout the year, providing insights into the programme and guidance on recruitment.
