Detailed Description

Midleton is situated around the confluence of the Owenacurra and Dungourney Rivers, 24 km east of Cork City. The River Owenacurra & River Dungourney (Midleton) Flood Relief Scheme is currently ongoing and is at Stage I – Scheme Development.

As part of the ongoing environmental studies, Invasive Alien Plant Species (IAPS) Surveys have been carried out, and treatment has been carried out on behalf of Cork County Council – in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. Further treatment is now required for 2021. The scope of services in 2021 will include: · Full survey for IAPS along the Owenacurra and Dungourney Rivers · Treatment of Himalayan Balsam in early summer · Herbicidal treatment of Japanese Knotweed (and other IAPS) in late summer/early Autumn
