Join Teagasc, 14 November at 4pm for webinar on sustainable energy solutions in horticulture using biomass as a heat source, hosted by the Teagasc Horticulture Development Department and Teagasc Energy Specialist Barry Caslin.

The ongoing shift away from fossil fuels is creating demand for heat using carbon neutral fuel sources. Along with the cheaper cost of wood chip or pellets, growers with a high heat demand in their businesses can also benefit from government subsidy support for biomass use.

Teagasc Energy specialist Barry Caslin will present an overview of boiler technology and review impacts of a range of fuel types. Scenarios for horticultural producers will be assed and there will be an opportunity for questions from viewers to be discussed.

This webinar as part of a series of webinars focusing on sustainable energy solutions in horticulture. Next week, 7 November Teagasc will host a webinar on sustainable energy solutions in horticulture using wind power as an energy source.
