Newlands Home and Garden Centre is one of the longest established garden centres in Ireland, opening its doors in 1976.
The garden centre offers a full range of quality plants and all kinds of garden sundries and equipment, particularly water features, but also furniture, especially the Leisuregrow range, Alexander Rose furniture, and Weber barbecues.
A wide choice of giftware, mostly from Continental Europe, is offered and it’s convenient with parking space for 100 cars. Customers can conveniently shop online at www.newlands.ie for all kinds of plants and gardening equipment, aquatics and pets, and barbecues and furniture.
Delivery is nationwide and there is no delivery charge on purchases of over €75. There is a florist shop on site with full Interflora service.
One of the first dedicated Christmas shops was set up at Newlands and it opens from the first Friday in October. The garden centre has a child-friendly approach — the site is level, very safe and accessible for children and for those in wheelchairs.
The pets and aquatic area is also very popular and it broadens the scope of the offering to customers, proving to be a year-round business. The coffee shop has proved a great attraction for those who want refreshment while visiting the garden centre, or as a place to meet.
The emphasis from the outset has been on plants and Newlands gives a three-year guarantee on outdoor plants except, of course, for short-lived bedding plants.
There is a potting service for baskets and containers, and seasonal demonstrations of container planting and flower arranging. There is an attractive demonstration garden in contemporary style. The emphasis at Newlands is very much on customer service.
