Windyridge Nurseries & Garden Centre is a family-run business established in 1962 on Rochestown Avenue, Dun Laoghaire by the current owners’ grand-aunt, Miss Sheila Harvey, a knowledgeable lady, trained in horticulture, who many people still remember fondly.

Now in the 21st century her grandnephews Justin and Paul Harvey are continuing her legacy.

Extended, newly restocked and re-launched, the garden centre offers a fine choice of plants. Many of the plants, such as the large and extensive range of herbaceous, are very good value and are grown on site which makes them well adapted to local conditions.

Colourful bedding plants are available all year round and used in hanging baskets and containers. Windyridge is renowned for making up hanging baskets and containers to customers’ specifications, a service first started by Sheila Harvey nearly fifty years ago, ahead of her time.

Customers can also choose from a large selection of pre-made baskets on show in the bedding section. Along with bedding and herbaceous plants in stock, there is a wide range of fruit trees, bushes, ornamental trees, climbers, a vast selection of shrubs and a beautiful range of Irish grown roses.

In the newly extended shop, there is a full range of fertilisers, weed killers, pest controls, plant feeds, tools, and garden accessories at competitive prices and with staff on hand to give advice. There is an impressive selection of pots and an extensive compost range.
