Teagasc is to host a seminar highlighting the increasing importance of biopesticides and the changing landscape for plant protection products in the EU.

Titled ‘Plant protection products for ornamental and nursery stock plants – new controls and increasing impact of biopesticides’, the seminar will review the growing importance of bio-pesticide use in ornamental horticulture in Ireland. A new Syngenta product Taegro will be launched at the event.

Taking place 1 March at 9.30am at Teagasc Ashtown Food Research Centre, Ashtown, Dublin 15, this event will be of most relevance to nursery stock and ornamental growers, sprayer operators, pesticide users and pesticide advisors.

Speakers will join from Teagasc, Syngenta and Fargro to discuss the current range of plant protection products, increasing the efficacy of spraying, potential impacts of the Sustainable Use Regulations and investigations into vine weevil behaviour and control. There will also be a tour of the Teagasc glasshouse facilities.
