Teagasc’s College of Horticulture appeals to prospective students with keen interests in parks gardening, garden centres, large garden estates, botanic gardens, market gardening, greenkeeping/sportsturf grounds maintenance, horticultural therapy, landscape design, and construction nurseries.

Commenting on the open day, John Mulhern, College Principal of Teagasc’s College of Horticulture said: “The October open day will provide an opportunity for prospective students to come along to the College of Horticulture and get a feel for the place. The number of students attending, particularly our part-time courses, is very positive with approximately 80 students enrolled in our Level 5 offering and approximately 35 students enrolled in our Level 6 offering.

“We are also looking forward to launching our apprenticeship programme with the horticulture industry next year, which we believe will greatly benefit the industry.”
