Bord Bia Bloom ambitious gardeners to apply for a chance to design one of the show gardens at Bord Bia Bloom 2024.

They are also looking for candidates for its Cultivating Talent initiative, a programme that provides financial support and one-on-one mentoring to kick-start the career of a motivated show garden designer. This initiative aims to support emerging garden and landscape designers and nurture new talent in the industry.

Bord Bia Bloom aim to expand their reach in 2024 by encouraging applications from talented and experienced professionals who have not yet considered participating in this industry showcase.

This horticulture and food festival is set to return to Phoenix Park, Dublin, from May 30th to June 3rd, 2024.

Alan Rudden, garden designer and previous participant, said: “There’s no doubt about it, people associate a certain level of quality with Bord Bia Bloom and it definitely adds another string to your bow when building your business profile. You get back what you put into anything. A show garden comes with a lot of hard work, but for me it is the foundation of where I’ve built everything from. The images lend themselves so well to social media platforms such as Instagram and have really helped build our brand. This should be a definite draw for any aspiring designers.”

The application deadline for show garden designers and the Cultivating Talent initiative is Monday, 20 November, 2023.
