The Royal Horticultural Society of Ireland (RHSI) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) online via Zoom on the 30th September 2026, giving members an opportunity to hear about the Society’s work over the past year and its plans for the future.

The AGM will begin at 6.30pm and will be followed at 7.30pm by a presentation from Colin Jones entitled “Making a Cutting Garden at Salterbridge”.

The Society is encouraging members to attend the AGM, which provides an important opportunity to hear about the organisation’s activities and to contribute to discussions about its future direction.

Members who have questions or issues they would like addressed during the AGM are asked to submit them to the RHSI office by the 16th September. Members will also have the opportunity to raise questions during the meeting itself.

Volunteers at the heart of RHSI

The AGM will also highlight the contribution of RHSI staff, volunteers, committees and Board members across the Society’s activities.

The RHSI has a strong emphasis on practical horticulture, education and volunteering. Its work includes the development and management of its gardens at Bellefield and Russborough, engagement with partner gardens, publication of the RHSI Journal, garden tours and visits, lectures and educational activities.

At Russborough House in Co. Wicklow, RHSI volunteers are involved in the restoration of a 3.5-acre walled garden, while Bellefield House and Gardens in Co. Offaly is being developed as a centre for learning, training and horticultural engagement.

The RHSI is also using the AGM as an opportunity to encourage members to become more actively involved in the Society’s work.
