Green-tech appoints new MD following Origin Enterprises acquisition
4 November 2021
Landscape supplier Green-tech has announced the appointment of a new managing director, Kris Nellist, who is succeeding former owner and managing director Rachel Kay.
Green-tech was founded in 1994 by Richard and Rachel Kay but was acquired by Agri-services group Origin Enterprises in March of this year. As part of the acquisition agreement both Richard and Rachel Kay will continue to work with Green-tech on a consultancy basis until the end of February 2022. Rachel Kay will work alongside Nellist to ensure a smooth transition and handover.
Nellist has been with the company since May 2021, when he joined Green-tech as the interim financial director. “I have a wealth of experience working across multiple markets for organisations of all sizes and ownership structures and was delighted when the opportunity at Green-tech was presented to me,” said Nellist. “The last five months working as the finance director has provided great insight into the running of the business and has given me an opportunity to understand the market, the opportunities and challenges we face. Working alongside Richard and Rachel, who understandably have vast knowledge and expertise, has proved invaluable. I’m now looking forward to working with a brilliant team and building upon their success.”
Commenting on the new appointment Chris Clark, managing director or Origin’s Amenity Division under which Green-tech sits, added “I am delighted that Kris will be heading up the highly skilled and knowledgeable Green-tech team. It is a well-established, successful, and progressive business and I look forward to working with Kris as he takes over from Richard and Rachel, builds on their solid foundations and leads Green-tech into an exciting next chapter.”
Nellist has over twenty years’ finance and operational experience working in sectors ranging from retail to logistics and rail. He is a strategic and commercially focused leader with a track record of building effective teams, developing and implementing business plans and managing change.
“Green-tech has been an incredible journey for Richard and I over the last 27 years,” said Rachel Kay. “I am extremely proud of what we have achieved and consider ourselves fortunate to have met and worked with so many fantastic people along the way. I am confident that we are leaving Green-tech in a capable and safe pair of hands. I have no doubt that the company and the team will continue to thrive and flourish under Kris’s tutelage.”
