ICL‘s popular Hort Science Masterclasses return this autumn with two essential events exploring sustainable plant production for the future.

They will aim to explore sustainable plant production for the future, and will take place at RHS Wisley on 15 October, and at Brockholes Conference Centre on 12 November.

“Each session will be packed with actionable insights, product innovations and expert guidance to help growers grow smarter, leaner and more sustainably,” Matthew Miller, ICL marketing communications manager, said.

The Hort Science Masterclasses include sessions such as: “Nutrition and how to grow smarter” with Andrew Wilson (ICL technical manager), “Sustainable growing media – what comes next” and a 30-minute session on “Robust vine weevil control”.

Also, Adrian Thirtle-Watts (ICL sales manager), will provide updates on innovations such as the new Fibagro Advance woodfibre grades, the award-winning Fibagro Advance Pot Topper (FT), and ICL’s biodegradable fertiliser coatings ahead of impending legislation.

The Masterclass at RHS Wisley includes a timely “update from the RHS Transition to Peat-Free Fellowship project” from Dr Raghavendra Prasad, followed by an optional guided tour of Wisley.

The Masterclass at the award-winning Brockholes floating conference venue, near Preston, features guest speaker Peter Marshall, CTO of Volta eco systems, on “Growing your energy storage and reduce operation costs”.

With registration and coffee from 9.30, Masterclass sessions start at 10am, complete by 2pm and include lunch.

With BASIS points available, these ‘Sustainable plant production for the future’ Masterclasses are free to attend.
