Propagate plants the modern way
Aero-NT propagation trays promote healthier growth in a shorter time frame. The Aero-NT plug’s aerated structure provides an optimal micro-climate and consistently reduces fungal infection.

Aero-NT is one of the newest and most revolutionary developments in young plant growing technology and is available from PG Horticulture – a wholesale supplier offering a wide range of specialist products to professional growers in Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
Aero-NT propagation trays promote healthier growth in a shorter time frame. A special mix ‘glue plug’, formulated for summer or winter conditions, and can also be tailored for specific crops.
The benefits are numerous but significantly the structure establishes an improved water management system allowing better water retention and outstanding drainage attributes. This environment leads to improved rooting and a significantly reduced rooting period.
The design also increases air circulation optimising transportation issues and reducing the plants susceptibility to disease.
Technical Background
Aero-NT the airy glued plug is made of substrates only from origins controlled and verified to state of the art standards and regulations. Aero-NT consists of white peat, coco substrates andperlite, the ratios of which can be adjusted to suit the application. This felxibility is enhanced with the plugs being available in a range of pH values from 4,5 -6,4 and Ec values which can be set between 0,3 and 1,0
The pre-dibbled sticking holes can be made in a wide range of shapes and diameters, so that the plugs can be tailored according to crop and propagation method. Not only one but also two or even three sticking holes per plug can be made in both the 38mm and 46mm plugs suitable for combined plantings.
The regular Aero NT’s sticking holes are filled up with a fine lose substrate that guarantees a well bottom colure. Upon special requests the holes can be left “open”. For seedlings Aero-NT can be delivered with a shallow pit.
The Aero-NT cell trays containing the plugs have been especially designed for our glue plug. They are made predominently of recyled PS or PET material. These 530mm x 310mm trays are very stable and can be handled well. For large-leaved plants Aero-NT plugs can be distributed in the trays in various patterns due to the variable production process.
The high air content enables the Aero-NT plugs dry swiftly. Though rewetting is easy. Depending on the climate conditions or upon the user’s request Aero-NT can be offered as “winter” or “summer” mix. It is with proud that no wetting agents are employed for the Aero-NT’s properties.
Application notes
In general there is no preparation required before sticking as holes are pre-drilled. It is however especially important not to water Aero-NT plugs before sticking.
Aero-NT dries very fast and should be watched after sticking carefully. The plugs keep their drying characteristics after rooting and we therefore advise a timely watering with a small amount of wetting agnet before potting.
Aero-NT should be used within 3 months. Storage of unused trays should be done below 25° Celsius and in shadow.
Benefits
Fast rooting
Aero-NT ensures rapid rooting at an excellent success rate. The Aero-NT plug’s aerated structure provides an optimal micro-climate and consistently reduces fungal infection.
Uniform sticking
Pre-dibbled plug holes allow easy sticking without preparation and ensure good stem-to-soil contact, encouragaing callus and swift rooting. Penetrating the ground is almost impossible.
Various diameters, depth and filling options of the holes ensure we have a plug suitable for most plant material. Seeding pits or two or three holes per plug increase the flexibility of the Aero-NT range.
Stable structure
The inherently stable structure of Aero-NT provides both a constsnat water retention and outstanding drainage attributes. Its innovative structure also reduces shrinking and expansion when the plug is either wet or dry.
