In 2018, the Garden Landscape and Amenity Sportsturf (GLAS) trade show’s successful Learning Theatre will expand to two theatres for the first time – increasing capacity for the trade show’s attendees, as well as providing greater knowledge and insight into the issues facing the horticulture world.
2018’s GLAS Learning Theatre 1 will be proudly sponsored by Bord Bia and GLAS Learning Theatre 2 will be proudly sponsored by Teagasc.
The high quality of speakers at GLAS 2017 have driven the need for an expanded Learning Theatre offering at GLAS 2018 and the GLAS team, together with Bord Bia and Teagasc, are delighted to provide the increased offering.
The Learning Theatre at GLAS 2018 will once again bring the very best from the expanded horticulture world to provide key, focused discussions and presentations on the pressing issues, and solutions, that face the industry today.
In 2017, Bord Bia brought its ‘Thinking House’ to GLAS to show visitors how its state-of-the-art consumer research and market insight centre can assist in maximising profitability for the sector. Bord Bia staff were on hand throughout the day showcasing the valuable facilities available to the industry to access the latest global trends, research, consumer insights and industry innovations, on specially formatted touch screens.
In the specially designed Learning Theatre, Dr Clare Sampson and Neill Helyer discussed the crucial topic of Smart, Safe, and Sustainable Pest Control; Grace Binchy from Bord Bia provided an invaluable insight into consumer behaviour attitudes and influences, which drive their decisions around the purchase of plants and garden products, in Ireland today.
Lastly, the Learning Theatre came to a close with Joe O’Meara from Groundwater Dynamics discussing 21st century drainage solutions for greenkeeping professionals
