Heading to the HTA Plant Show? Here’s the lineup!
7 June 2017
If you are thinking about heading to the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) Plant Show 2017 read all about how the HTA is aiming to provide their visitors with a VIP experience.
The programme is as follows:
Tuesday 20 June
10am – Saving our trees-the Phytothreats project. We will be joined by the Phytothreats project team who will be speaking about the danger to plants and trees from the introduction of new Phytophthoras through trade and how it can be tackled! They will highlight how cooperating with nurseries and plant end users, and not penalising anyone, will create a win-win for all! You will also have the chance to speak to the team in more depth on stand 155 at the show.
11am – New Plant Awards public announcement. Featuring our judging panel, this session will highlight our winning plants and give the background on why they won and how they can help the plantarea offering.
12:30 pm – Grand Opening of the new event HTA Nursery Supply Show. Join us at the link way for the grand opening of our new event. Running as a separate exhibition in hall 3 at Stoneleigh the HTA Nursery Supply Show will give even more to visitors by both enabling them to buy plants, but to also look at the critical elements that support plant sales and nursery retailers.
2pm – Raoul Curtis-Machin will be giving a plant health update.
3.30pm – Are we growing the right plants? A panel session lead by George Bullivant of Garden Forum will explore the ideas around breeders and growers producing plants that retailers want. What fits needs, collections and solutions in their centres?
George will be joined on stage by Ben Gregory, Brett Avery and Graham Spencer for this session and they will tackle the issues ahead and looking at how garden centres buy and sell plants.

What’s new for 2017? Following post event feedback from visitors and exhibitors the HTA has been working very closely with the venue to enhance the National Plant Show experience. This will include rehydration stations around the halls offering ice cold water infused with zesty lemon slices and fresh mint, fruit stops where you can grab one of your five a day and our food on the go pod where you can pick up a takeaway bowl of summery soup and a fresh bread roll. Even better, all of these are with compliments of the show to give you time to visit more of our amazing exhibitors.
Created by Elho, we also have the new retail concept area for this year. This area will create a stimulating retail experience for visitors filled with inspiring retail ideas for you to take away. It will also feature an area curated by Elho showing its in-store installation concepts which ultimately support increased plant sales.
