Teagasc will host a webinar next week on sustainable energy solutions in horticulture using solar PV and heat recovery. Taking place 28 September at 3pm, the webinar is the second in a series of three Teagasc webinars focused on sustainable energy.

There is a growing interest in the horticulture industry to reduce energy costs and use more sustainable energy options. While PV solar panels and heat pumps are not new technologies, there is ongoing refinement and improvements worth reviewing.

During the event, speakers Pat Smith, managing director, Local Power and Peter McMahon, technical sales director, European Industrial Chillers will review case studies from across the horticulture sectors and detail the benefits and challenges they have seen.

The former CEO of the IFA, Pat Smith has significant experience in the solar energy business and has worked with commercial and domestic customers to supply solar energy systems and EV chargers amongst other options.

Peter McMahon will provide an overview of the heat recovery 4-pipe Multifunctional Heat Pumps which are extremely popular these days in other industries. McMahon is a registered training provider though Engineers Ireland and has offered many CPD approved presentations on renewable HVAC and Process Cooling technologies.

This is the second of three Teagasc webinars that are all focused on sustainable energy.
