Membership Growth
Three new members have recently been accepted for membership of the ALCI: Paddy Dowling – KHS Landscaping, Dunsany, Co Meath; Richard Shortall – The Landscape Co., Kilmacanogue, Co Wicklow; Barry Moore – Rye River Landscapes, Leixlip, Co Kildare; with further applications currently being processed. This brings the total number of members to 93 presently. ALCI members nationwide report strong customer demand currently from both the private and commercial sectors.
ALCI Members’ Success at Bloom
ALCI members Alan Rudden, John Durston, and Kevin Dennis won gold medals for their show garden designs at Bloom 2017 and Paul Dunne won a silver medal for his show garden design. Alan Rudden also won the Best in Category Planting award. ALCI members also built a number of the show gardens at Bloom. In all, ALCI members designed and/or built 9 of the 22 show gardens.
Entries open for 2017 ALCI Landscape Awards
Entries are open for the 2017 ALCI Landscape Awards. There are 10 categories covering private gardens, landscape maintenance, residential and commercial developments, and sportsgrounds. Judging will take place in August and the judges this year are Gary Graham, Bord Bia and Kerrie Gardiner – landscape architect and Bloom show garden manager. The 2017 awards are sponsored by Bord Bia, Annaveigh Plants, Sanctuary Synthetics,
Kilsaran. Mulch.ie, N & C Enterprises and NAD. The winners of the 2017 ALCI Awards will be announced at the Awards gala event in the Convention Centre Dublin in November.
