Frazer McDonogh a Garden designer from Wicklow town is the first Rep of Ireland designer to win a Gold medal at the RHS Tatton park flower show 2016 in Cheshire UK last week.

RHS Tatton park show along with Hampton court flower show is a stepping stone to the Chelsea Flower show for many designers. Frazer’s Gold garden ‘The green retreat’ was a small suburban garden’ a space to relax and unwind in an atmosphere of textural green and informal planting, with the use of natural materials to give an organic feeling. Green creates a healing energy in the mind thus creating a relaxing, calming and soothing atmosphere.

A stepping stone path lead the visitor through the garden to a circular wooden decking area with seating. A rustic metal pergola at the back provided  structure and enclosure. The boundary was a  woven willow fencing creating a natural background. A circular reflective pool of water added a refreshing feeling and reflected the garden’s surroundings.
