19 December 2018

Just a few months out from the next round of Teagasc open days, a group of students who are currently enrolled in the Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Horticulture at the Teagasc Ahtown campus are  busy working on the new student project gardens in the Teagasc Hort. education site in Ashtown.

The students are completing this project as part of their landscape design and build module. Overall, there are two entire garden builds which will be completed by students under the supervision of college tutors by early March 2019.

The gardens will also represent the design concepts of the students directly and is a fantastic practical learning project for the group. After March the students will be going on placement to complete their programme of learning.

Completing specific modules with a hands-on approach will provide invaluable experience for these students and provide them with the required skills to confidently enter the job market and begin their career.
